Dobutsu Shogi (どうぶつしょうぎ), subtitled ''Let's Catch the Lion'', is a miniature shogi variant created by ladies professional player [[Madoka Kitao]]. The game was made to appeal to young children, especially girls. It is played on a 3x4 board with four types of pieces. It generally follows the same rules as normal shogi, including the drop rule, except that players can win by moving their lion to the final rank of the board.
