Hidetchi is an amateur shogi player and promoter from Japan. He created a substantial amount of Youtube videos about shogi, and is the creator and administrator of 81dojo. He has done the translation of several shogi books for Nekomado, and wrote the Hidetchi Japanese-English Shogi Dictionary. He began creating shogi videos on Youtube on September 5, 2008, starting with How to play Shogi(将棋) -Lesson#1- Introduction. He has made over 150 videos discussing how to play, tactics, and strategy, as well as demonstrations of famous artistic tsume problems and professional shogi games. His videos are still often recommended as a good place to start learning shogi.
